Craig Franklin is the oldest son of Dr. Carl Mason Franklin and his wife, Carolyn Craig Franklin. Dr. Franklin was vice president of law at the University of Southern California. The Doctor and his wife endowed numerous chairs at educational institutions during their life times.
The couple's three sons, Allen Craig Franklin, Sterling Craig Franklin, and Lawrence Craig Franklin, all attended Stanford University for their undergraduate degrees. The family had one daughter, Priscilla Craig Franklin, married to Lew Overton. Priscilla has several earned degrees but has been unable to find a job, according to others in her family.
She is presently working for her eldest brother, Craig, helping with coordinating the legal defense of Craig's son, Jonathan Scott Franklin, presently incarcerated in the Yuba County Jail, awaiting trial, for the attempted murder by hire of his estranged wife and her boy friend.
