John Fund took Ellen with him to a party at the home of David Koch in New York in October of 2001. At the time he was living with Morgan Pillsbury, who he was both abusing and gaslighting. The party was also attended by many of her old friends from Reason Foundation, who, naturally, did not know the reality of the situation.
John told Morgan later Ellen was ugly, but he had his reasons for simulating an interest in her. Ellen was a director for Citibank. The next January it was Ellen who ignored the rules of banking and closed Morgan's account on John's word alone.
