Franklin Adoption of Melinda's children
Craig Franklin insisted he be allowed to adopt Melinda's children, beginning when they moved in together in 1986.  Franklin negotiated with Ron Foster, Melinda's former husband, offering to excuse him from a full division of property from the divorce then beginning, from alimony and from child support.

Melinda agreed to this with the assurance Craig was adopting all the children.

Ron Foster signed a notarized document giving up his paternal rights on June 21, 1989.

Franklin had a will written in June, 1989.  The Last Will and Testament was written by his brother, Sterling Franklin, an attorney licensed to practice law in California.  The document and signed and witnessed on June 26, 1989.

Franklin presented the children as his own when introducing them to his friends and family.  He did so at all times, at family events, at work, and in every other situation.

This is the declaration by Ayn Pillsbury, written in 1999 documenting events for the divorce.

Today Arthur, the oldest son, is severely disabled.  Here is what he has to say about Franklin's adoption of himself and his siblings.
