How the Tape came to be made

The  Weaselsearch Tape.  This tape was made by Morgan in September, 1999 to convince her mother, Melinda, she was telling the truth.  The two had not talked for over a year because Morgan had aided her father, Craig Franklin in their divorce.  Morgan had told lies about her mother, manipulated by the man who had adopted her and mentored her since 1987.  She realized he had told her lies about her mother for years.  Franklin manipulated all the children covertly for his own purposes.

Melinda, an old friend of Fund's, refused to believe Morgan about what had happened because of the divorce.  The two were arguing when Fund called.  The tape was made partly while Melinda was on hold and partly while she was attempting to call back.  Those are the beeping sounds you hear.   That is Melinda attempting to call back and continue their discussion.
After hanging up from Fund Morgan called her mother and said, "Just listen."  Melinda listened with shock.  Go to How it Started to read about Melinda meeting John.

The Weasel Search Tape has four parts.
When you finish listening to the four segments you will have a different view of John Fund.
Part One - This segment demonstrates extreme paranoia.  John is asserting Morgan told Melinda about their relationship.  Melinda knew nothing about it until she heard the tape.  Melinda did not know they went to New Orleans until she heard this tape.  The "upset' under discussion Fund mentions here and later in the tape was Morgan's abortion.
Part Two - This segment goes into Fund's intentions.  This goes into Melinda's emails and John's guilty conscience.  Melinda sent no such email.  She did, however, having heard a rumor  from another party, call Fund around May and ask if he was, in fact, having a relationship with Morgan.  She was apologetic about asking because it sounded so bizarre to her. Listening to this amazed Melinda since she never made any threats, she just asked for the truth.  After this Melinda was very angry, however.  The tape evidence showed Melinda a side of John she did not imagine existed.  The emails referred to were a mailings to her poetry group mailing list in which Fund had been included accidentally.
Part Three - John Fund admits responsibility for the abortion.  The couple are talking about what Morgan has been through.   John accuses her of telling her mother.  All of this was a complete surprise to Morgan's  mother.  When she first heard this she could not understand what hotel was being discussed, much less the number of the hotel number.  Ayn did not sneak in and get it for anyone else either, as far as any of them know.  Listen for the beeps.  Melinda is still trying to get Morgan on the phone.
Part Four - News!  John is not a strict life to  lifer.  John  twiddles with the rhetoric.  Morgan said, "her first abortion."  They were BOTH involved.  Morgan complains about having no help when she arrived home.  The beeping continues.  Melinda is in for a shock since Morgan will play the tape to her immediately, letting her know the truth.  Fund is anxious for Morgan not to talk to Melinda.
